| Job Description |
Creates PL/SQL applications to load, stage, publish and maintain
data in an Oracle data warehouse. Takes general direction from
database architect and implements necessary stored procedures,
triggers, views, tables, indexes, and other database objects to
translate designs into a running, usable system. Works with other
team members and uses version control to track changes to application
code. Capable of most basic database administration tasks, including
Oracle installation and initial set-up. Acts as subject matter expert
for Oracle applications development.
Key qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years experience building, deploying, and maintaining
applications on Oracle, preferably in an OLAP environment.
* Background in a consultative and contract environment preferred.
* Experience working in small teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Undergraduate degree in a computer-related field or equivalent
experience.
* Qualified in the use of Oracle tools such as Enterprise
Manager, but capable functioning without them if needed.
* Experience automating queries and procedures using PL/SQL
* Ability to write technical and business documentation. A short
writing sample should be included in your application.
* Experience with source code control systems.
Job requirements:
* Participate in planning/design meetings with team. Determine
appropriate physical layout and database design.
* Install and configure Oracle RAC on multi-node system. Work
with Architect to implement performance tuning recommendations.
* Respond to system outages, troubleshoot problems, and respond
with mitigation plan. When necessary, work with Oracle to log and
resolve TARs.
* Deploy PL/SQL packages and shell scripts in production
environment.
* Document system operational tasks and key technical decisions.
* Other database-related activities as needed.
